U.S. Supreme Court Rules in Favor of Families and Education Freedom

In a landmark victory for education freedom, today the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of children and families in Espinoza v. Montana Department of Revenue in a 5-4 decision.

Statement from Mike Long, President of Parents for Educational Freedom in North Carolina:

“Today is a great day for educational freedom and equal access to educational opportunities for all.  PEFNC has stood for parents’ right to choose the school that best meets the needs of their children regardless of income or zip code.  We have successfully defended that right in our own NC Supreme Court ruling in 2015 upholding the Opportunity Scholarship Program that currently provides over 12,000 NC students from low-income working-class families economic access to a private school of their choice.  I applaud the US Supreme Court’s ruling that has now further solidified that right.”
