Departure of Executive Vice President Brian Jodice

February 3, 2025 (Raleigh, NC) – Parents for Educational Freedom in North Carolina (PEFNC), a non-profit organization that advocates for expanded school choice, has announced that Executive Vice President Brian Jodice has departed from the organization and joined the American Federation for Children (AFC) as National Press Secretary.

“Brian joined PEFNC in 2016, and in the nearly eight-years of his tenure with our organization, he has been instrumental in the historic gains in school choice expansion in North Carolina. Today, more families in our state have access to the schools of their choice, and the momentum for even more expansion is on the horizon. We thank Brian for his service, not only to PEFNC, but to the families, parents, and students who have been impacted by his work. We eagerly await his efforts at AFC, and we stand ready to elevate the voice of parents here in North Carolina onto a larger national stage with him,” said PEFNC President Mike Long.
“It has been an honor and privilege to serve PEFNC and help families across North Carolina, since joining this organization back in 2016. As the son of an Air Force Officer, we moved around, and through those moves North Carolina became my home state. To have played a role, if even a small part, in the success in school choice in the state that has given my family so much means the world to me. I am eager to serve now on the national level and I am grateful to AFC for their trust, and ready to help tell the story of school choice for the world to see,” said Jodice.
