A new study from the National Economic Research Bureau found that students who particpated in the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship Program have had improvements in reading and mathematics, relative to students who applied for the program but remained in public schools. The study, released in August, is based on an analysis of 2009-10 achievement data.

RALEIGH (June 30, 2011) – History will be made for thousands of children across North Carolina on Friday when House Bill 344 (Tax Credits for Children with Disabilities) officially becomes law.

Gov. Beverly Perdue released a final list of bills under her consideration this afternoon, which included a statement saying that she will not sign House Bill 344. This means the bill will become law at midnight.

 A pivotal moment in North Carolina education history was cemented minutes ago when Darrell Allison, president of Parents for Educational Freedom in North Carolina, received a phone call from Gov. Beverly Perdue.
