Putting Parents in Charge: September Speaking Tour

Join Parents for Educational Freedom in North Carolina for a unique opportunity to hear from a renowned voice in the school choice movement.

As a single parent, Virginia Walden Ford raised three children in Washington, D.C.  After obtaining a private scholarship for one of her sons to attend a private school, she became an outspoken advocate for parental school choice.

In 1996, Virginia led a coalition of parents and community leaders that worked passionately to ensure that working class parents were able to choose the schools and educational  models that met the needs of their children.  Thanks to the hard work under Virginia’s leadership, more than 1,700 D.C. children were able to obtain a quality education through the D.C. Opportunity Scholarship Program.

Come hear Virginia share her story and explain how to bring about similar change in our home state.
