Gov. Beverly Perdue’s signing of a bill eliminating the public charter school cap has allowed for an opportunity to create more quality schools to address the state’s achievement gap for low income and mostly minority students.

PEFNC co-sponsors Wilmington town hall forum tonight

PEFNC is co-sponsoring a town hall forum in Wilmington tonight that will address education issues and happenings in New Hanover County and across the state.

"What should education reform look like in New Hanover County" will take place at the Community Boys and Girls Club of Wilmington, 901 Nixon St., from 6:30-8 p.m. This discussion will examine how education reform can improve classroom learning in New Hanover and address various education options, including public charter schools, nonpublic schools and homeschooling.

PEFNC releases statement for Wilmington town hall forum on Tuesday

Potential school closures in Wilmington and proposed legislation in Raleigh have left families in southeastern North Carolina with more questions than answers regarding the future of their child’s education.
