School Spotlight: Christian Faith Center Academy, Creedmoor
Christian Faith Center Academy (CFC Academy) was founded in 1989 by Christian Faith Center Inc., a non-denominational and independent 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, under the leadership of Dr. Mack and Pastor Brenda Timberlake. Since its founding, the Academy has remained committed to providing the highest level of quality education serving kindergarten through the 12th grade, in a nurturing, supportive and secure environment...all at an affordable cost. CFC Academy’s mission is to impact the lives of today's students and help them become the leaders of tomorrow.
CFC Academy is located in rural Creedmoor, NC on nearly 100 acres in a 52,000 square-feet state certified facility with a competition-size gymnasium, science lab, computer lab, weight room, full-service cafeteria and music and arts room. A combination of Abeka and other curriculums used for language arts, reading, science, history, math and other subjects for purposes of establishing the solid educational foundation necessary for success after post secondary education. Teachers with diverse backgrounds and educational experience provide uniquely creative approaches in their instructional techniques.Students score in the 90% percentile on the California Achievement Test.
Known for its unique ability to reach students from various social and educational backgrounds, CFC Academy has effectively educated students from Granville, Wake, Durham, Orange, Vance and Warren County. In addition, the Academy has received students from numerous states, as well as different countries, including Bosnia, Nigeria, Canada and others.
Since the Academy's founding, over 95%of graduates have been accepted to institutions of higher learning. CFC Academy has produced graduates that have been accepted to some of the nation’s top universities such as: UNC-Chapel Hill, John Hopkins, University of Virginia, Seton Hall, Berkley School of Music, N.C. State, Virginia Tech, Howard University and others.
Such a high college acceptance rate would not be possible if it were not for CFC’s rigorous academic curriculum which produces an average student score in the top 10% in the nation on nationally standardized tests. In fact, CFC Academy was featured in 2001 before the United States Congress for its effectiveness and diversified approach in private education.
It is clear that CFC Academy remains firmly committed to producing outstanding students destined to change their world for the better. It is schools like this that will produce a brighter future for North Carolina.
